Dead Ringer
Audio

Anthony Walker has been writing or re-writing and recording songs for the movie. This first cut was originally written by Greg Hasyn and Larry Baxtor, then re-written by Anthony to sound like a John Lennon song and then re-written and recorded again (in one week) to sound like a Paul McCartney song. The two re-writes were presented at the Beatle-fest in Chicago and performed (lip synced) on camera for the movie by Mike Oltersdorf and British Export. The two re-writes are still being refined in the recording studio. These are early version of the two songs. More detail...

I Could Have Been Somebody (original version by Greg and Larry)

I Could Have Been Someone (John Lennon rewrite)

I'm Gonna Be Somebody (Paul McCartney rewrite)

Lyrics to both re-writes...

Here is a song written and recorded by Greg and Larry. This may be re-recorded with a more authentic John Lennon or Paul McCartney vocal. No re-write has been done to this song at this point.

My Everything

This is a very very preliminary working idea for a theme song for the movie written by Anthony Walker. The idea is to have a song that has the big 3 part harmony vocals like the Beatles were performing on Rubber Soul (e.g. Nowhere Man) with the name of the movie (Dead Ringer) high-lighted in the lyrics. Also to create a feel reminiscent of the psychedelic era like "Northern Song", "Baby You're A Rich Man" or "It's All Too Much". Hence, the vocal melody and instrumentation includes several Indian instruments and melodic ideas: Audio and more detail...

Here's a pseudo-instrumental song called "Paris In Winter" that Anthony had written before working on the movie. Sounds sort of like the instrumental songs on the "McCartney" album (First solo album after the Beatles). This particular version was mixed for the Fort Collins, Colorado Boys & Girls club fund raiser. The thought is that this could be used in the movie as incidental music in collage situations.
